Human beings long for liberation from a sense of limitation and lack, from psychological hurts and burdens, from past disappointments, from fears and worries about the future, including the fear of death. Thus begins our life of seeking with the hope of a future resolution; seeking for an authority to guide us, for fulfilment, accomplishment, recognition and ultimately enlightenment.
Deborah and I have created a new Residential Weekend Retreat Intensive Series called A Glimpse into Total Freedom. Please join us to explore together within a shared dialogical setting, Krishnamurti’s timeless message that it is not necessary for us to postpone our sense of being entirely free and fully alive right now.
This retreat is a unique opportunity to explore the farthest and deepest implications of what Krishnamurti pointed to as a direct impersonal ‘seeing’ beyond the limitations of thought, its structures, and the illusion of a separate ‘me’.
Krishnamurti stressed that ‘Seeing and Listening’ is all that is needed for us to penetrate to the deepest levels of understanding, to potentially ignite the possibility of an energetic, perceptual shift from the ‘Me’ or ‘Thought-Centered Consciousness’ to a mind that is timeless, unburdened and free. ‘Seeing and Listening’ is an open door through which the blocked energy of habitual thinking can potentially be released, as we actively share insights together during our explorations.
We are beginning our work from the other shore of perception, from wholeness, where there is no longer any need to resolve or change anything, or a need to escape from where we are right now to a better ‘me’.
In our daily inquiries together, we encourage affection and sensitivity, as well as open and fluid communication with each other to allow energy to move and gather. It is the movement of energy that shifts perception.

For the past 10 years, Richard Waxberg and Deborah Kerner have created and facilitated in-depth explorative retreats based on Krishnamurti’s timeless message for the Krishnamurti Foundation of America in Ojai, California. They have created a new week-long intensive program for the KFA, Explorations into Freedom, which takes place in Ojai, California, June and November this year.
Richard was a full-time teacher at Parsons School of Design in New York City for over 20 years. Richard and Deborah are active artists and writers. They both taught at the Rishi Valley School, a Krishnamurti school in India. As part of their spiritual journey, they studied and participated in Native American shamanic spiritual practices with traditional elders, before discovering the profound insights of Krishnamurti.
