A Contemplative Winter Retreat: Looking At What Is Now

A Contemplative Winter Retreat:

Looking At What Is Now

January 24-26, 2020 (Fri 7 pm – Sun 4:30 pm)

This fifth winter personal retreat is an opportunity for rest, sustained stillness and moment by moment inquiry.

Our emphasis this year will be on refining attentive looking and listening throughout all the weekend activities which, outside of group dialogue sessions, will be mostly silent, in order to create a supportive context for attention. We will ask such questions as:

What are our questions of immediacy and sincere interest?

What are we seeking or escaping?

Can our attention be moment to moment, and undivided from living experiences?

Can the mind be unburdened, free?

Our intention is to provide opportunities for refining self-inquiry. There will be time and opportunity for awareness in nature, walking, journaling and personal reflection. To assist personal looking there will be optional group dialogues, focused attentional
conversation, quiet sitting together and listening to short inspirational talks. Specific readings from the newly released book
Can The Mind be Quiet?: Living, Learning and Meditation” by J Krishnamurti, will guide aspects of looking.

Facilitators: Lynne Walker and David Bruneau have a sustained passion for, and background in, the processes of ongoing inquiry, both in dialogue groups and in daily life. They have each been involved in leading events at the Krishnamurti Centre for
many years.
