A Glimpse into Total Freedom

A Retreat Intensive with Richard Waxberg and Deborah Kerner

Date: Oct. 3, 4 & 5, 2014

Rarely do we ever have the opportunity to explore in-depth what it means to live in total freedom, unburdened by a thousand yesterdays and the longing sense that something is missing that we must somehow acquire or achieve in order to feel whole, fully alive and complete. What if there is nothing that we must do beyond a direct, clear ‘seeing’ into the illusion of separation? In this way ‘seeing’ and ‘listening’ has the potential to dissolve all boundaries.

Please join us for a weekend of discovering our original nature, an entry into being the unburdened energy of total freedom.

Human beings long for liberation from a sense of limitation and lack, from apparent hurts, disappointments and psychological burdens of every kind, from worries about the future including the fear of death. Thus begins our seeking for an authority to guide us, our seeking for fulfilment, accomplishment, recognition, acquisitions, and ultimately enlightenment.
This weekend intensive retreat will give us the opportunity to work together to explore the possibility of seeing if a shift can arise energetically from the contracted, fragmented, dualistic state of an apparent ‘self’ or ‘me’, with its intrinsic sense of psychological burden, to wholistic perceptual freedom, from a time-binding sense of limitation to an opening into boundlessness.

We will also be sharing insights together to expose the ‘me’ in all of its forms, so that we can experience a direct perception, a ‘seeing’, into how our perception is shaped and limited by this illusion of separation that the ‘me’ apparently perpetuates and maintains. With the ending of the illusion of separation and the me-idea, the natural energetic state of aliveness or wholeness can flower.

For the past 10 years, Richard Waxberg and Deborah Kerner have created and facilitated in-depth explorative retreats based on Krishnamurti’s teachings for the Krishnamurti Foundation of America in Ojai, California. They have created a new week-long intensive program for the KFA, Explorations into Freedom, which takes place in Ojai, California, June and November this year.

Richard was a full-time teacher at Parsons School of Design for over 20 years, and Deborah is an accomplished book designer, who has taught many workshops on design. They both taught at the Rishi Valley School, a Krishnamurti school in India. As part of their spiritual journey, Richard and Deborah studied and participated in Native American shamanic spiritual practices with traditional elders from several Native American tribes, before discovering the profound insights of Krishnamurti. Deborah and Richard are active writers and artists.
