BEING AND DOING
Two Zoom meetings with Ravi Ravindra
Saturday, April 18, 2 – 3:30 pm and Sunday, April 19, 2 – 3:30 pm (Pacific Time)

What is the relationship between being and doing?  What is ‘right action’?

Krishnamurti frequently emphasized the importance of simply being rather than doing this or that action decided by my thinking.  The right action needs to ooze out of my quality of being.  He made remarks such as “Be totally attentive and do nothing” and “Effort is an abomination.” In trying to understand the subtle meanings and implications of such remarks, can cultivating a state of actionlessness, as recommended by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, assist in understanding them? According to Krishna the state of actionlessness is not inaction, but results from skilfulness in action while remaining detached from the fruits of action. What are the implications of this for daily living?

Also, we will explore another remark of Krishnamurti, namely,  “You cannot ascend to the Truth, but the Truth can descend to you.”  Is anything required from my side for the Truth to descend upon me?
