EFFORTLESS ACTION: BODYMEDITATION AND KRISHNAMURTI
EFFORTLESS ACTION: BODYMEDITATION AND KRISHNAMURTI
An online yoga retreat with Oda Lindner
3 Zoom meetings: Sept 25 – 27 (Fri-Sun: 4-6pm PT/7-9pm ET)
To do anything demands energy. Yet energy dissipates when, inherent in the expression of that energy, there is conflict. We can often observe that in our activities we create some kind of conflict. That conflict results from a sense of effort, of wanting something, or from resistance, a sense of denial or a need to defend.
All action that is based on an idea, a concept, a formula must inevitably breed conflict. That is obvious. If I act according to a formula, a pattern, a concept, then I am always divided between the fact of what I am, and what I think I should do about that fact; so there is never a complete action.
J.Krishnamurti
Krishnamurti’s observation holds true for the mind, but it is also applicable to the body. In this on-line workshop we will look at how subtle mental expectations, assumptions and habits create physical and mental resistance that tends to dissipate energy and impedes effortless action.
Through slow movement and mindful meditation, we will allow that conflict to emerge and will start to see that, by simply noticing the conflict, we can begin to free the trapped energy. This in turn may help us to find a more effortless way of being in the world.
