Krishnamurti and the Transformation of Consciousness
A public talk and weekend retreat with Prof. P. Krishna
Date: May 22-24, 2015 (Fri. 7:00 pm – Sun. 4:30 pm)
This workshop is an extraordinary opportunity to explore Krishnamurti 's work and its significance with someone intimately acquainted with both the man and his teachings!
Professor P.Krishna was a professor of Physics at the Banaras Hindu University in India till 1986 when Krishnamurti asked him to take charge of his educational institutions in Varanasi, India and designated him as the Rector of the Rajghat Education Centre. He is currently in-charge of the Krishnamurti study centre there.
Professor Krishna has lectured about Krishnamurti's teachings all over the world for the last 28 years and spoken about science, education and society. His views on these topics can be read on his website www.pkrishna.org. This will be his first workshop in Canada!
Krishnamurti pointed out that the disorder which we see in our society is a projection of the disorder that exists in our consciousness. In short, our society is the way it is because we as individuals are what we are. The roots of the crisis are not out there in the circumstances, they lie deep within our consciousness and unless the individual transforms there can be no fundamental change in society.
This workshop will examine the connection between the state of our consciousness and the state of our society. By way of talks, Q&A, dialogue and video, we shall consider the causes of disorder in our consciousness and the possibility of ending it through self-knowledge.
