LEARNING TOGETHER

An online workshop with Jackie McInley
March 26-30, 2025 (Wed – Sun:  10 am PT, 1 pm ET, 19:00 CET)

We tend to assume that we know what it means to learn in life, and what’s more, it is rarely a collaborative activity. In this workshop we shall be exploring the nature of learning as we know it, as well as investigating whether there is a totally new kind of human learning to be discovered.
Usually we see learning in a very utilitarian way: this involves gathering more knowledge about a subject or an activity in order to achieve better results or control of a situation. Learning is synonymous with know-how; it is empirical in nature and gathers content through accumulation and recording as time. Here, in the field of self knowledge, memorised meaning about ourselves is always old and can never discover anything new, actual or whole.
In our workshop we will examine, in real time, the limitations and illusions of learning to which we are conditioned. Is there a seeing and an experiencing of life directly, that learns with no time, no content, and no sense of separation from what is? Is there a learning with no learner which implies a radically different kind of learning altogether?

Our Facilitator:

Jackie McInley founded and ran an independent Krishnamurti centre called Open Door in Southern France from 2004 until 2013 – hosting monthly inquiry weekends and annual international gatherings in French and English. She organized an experimental David Bohm bi-monthly dialogue meeting for 4 years in a local market town, and later a Krishnamurti dialogue group in the city of Toulouse.

A former self-employed, foreign language and theatre teacher by profession (schools, higher education and business), she now organises and facilitates inquiry events, gatherings and retreats in a variety of countries and cultures around the world. She also visits, facilitates dialogues and gives talks in the Krishnamurti Foundations, centres & schools in USA, UK and India.
