Quieting the Monkey-Mind
Date: July 25-27, 2014 (Fri. evening to Sun. afternoon)
Facilitators: Mark Lee (KFA), with Dr. Josip Pasic and Asha Lee
Regardless of how serious we are about the way we live and the quality of our relationships, we are perpetually preoccupied with the brain chattering away about everything, leaving little space or energy for anything else.
Can we inquire into the very essence of our daily life where thought, identity, images and memory are all rooted? Can we perceive the actual interior of consciousness and end self-centredness, image making and the problem-making dimension of consciousness?
In this dialogue weekend, we will directly take on the monkey-mind, find out what it is exactly, and see if it is possible to have a quiet mind—necessary, it seems, for clear perception.
“This restless monkey, which is thought, has broken up this world and has made a frightful mess of this world, it has brought such misery, such agony. And, thought cannot solve this, however intelligent, however, clever, however erudite, however capable of efficient thinking, it cannot, thought cannot possibly bring order out of this chaos. There must be a way out of it, which is not thought.''
J.Krishnamurti
