Reflections on the Self: A Winter Retreat for Self-Inquiry
REFLECTIONS ON THE SELF
A Winter Retreat for Self-Inquiry
Fri Jan 25, 7pm – Sun Jan 27, 4pm, 2019
In keeping with the natural movement inwards of winter, this retreat will provide for silent contemplation, time in nature, self reflection and group dialogues. There will also be two videos from the last dialogues between Krishnamurti and David Bohm (1983) on the topic of “The Future of Humanity”, in which they discuss our possible responses to the economic, political and ecological crises of our time.
We will look, through the lens of choice-less awareness, at what is present to the senses, noticing the participation of thought in creating separation, as well as examining illusory psychological ideals and motives which delude us away from ‘what is.’ Within the complexity and demands of human life, can we find freedom?
The Centre grounds offer a context of beauty, with lovely walks in forest and along the cliffs and beach. Vegetarian meals are catered for at this fully residential weekend.
This retreat is offered at a specially reduced New Year’s rate!
Cost (including accommodation and meals):
Early-bird rate*: $170
Regular rate: $190
*up to 30 days before start of the retreat
Accommodation is in private rooms, as long as they are available, or otherwise shared (double accommodation).
The weekend is ideal for those who have been, or will be, participating in the one year course “Reflections on The Self”, in which there is guidance for a more lengthy and closer examination of the many aspects of Self Identification.*
The facilitators:
Lynne Walker has been a committed student of the psychological teachings of Krishnamurti for the past 7 years following a lengthy career as a Jungian psychologist.
David Bruneau has been a facilitator of Krishnamurti study groups for many years and is a dedicated practitioner of awareness in daily life.
*“Reflections on the Self”, by J Krishnamurti, edited by Raymond Martin, is the text for this one year course. It will be available for purchase at the weekend.
