Seeing and Listening: A Revolution in Daily Living beyond Thought and Fear

A Weekend Retreat with Richard Waxberg and Deborah Kerner

September 23-25 (Fri. 7 pm – Sun. 4:30 pm)

Please join us for this life-affirming journey into re-discovering the mystery of the timeless dimension of love that is alive and accessible beyond thought and fear. Let us experience together the possibilityof seeing our daily life with a fresh mind, as if for the first time, in all of its intense and profound beauty.

‘Seeing and Listening’: At the end of his life, Krishnamurti stressed that ‘Seeing and Listening’ is all that is needed for us to penetrate to the deepest levels of understanding, to potentially ignite the possibility ofan energetic, perceptual shift from the ‘me’ or ‘thought-centered consciousness’, to a mind that is timeless, unburdened and free. In our work together, ‘Seeing and Listening’ is an open door through which theblocked energy of habitual thinking can potentially be released, as unexamined beliefs, concepts and ideas are exposed. Krishnamurti’s timeless message that it is not necessary for us to postpone our sense of beingentirely free and fully alive right here and now resonates throughout our work together.

Dialogue and the Role of the Question: In dialogue, as we ask questions and probe deeply together, the brain comes alive to meet the challenge that a question inherently demands from us. This has theeffect of potentially releasing the brain from the hypnotic authority of knowledge. This potential of dialogue to help us to awaken from the sleep of a million years of our brain’s accumulated conditioning, by exposing it,is of supreme importance. It can help us to ‘see’ directly the structures of thought that lie below our usual daily perception but that unconsciously shape and severely limit our perceptual life causing conflict andsuffering.

Releasing Trapped Energy: In our daily explorations together, we encourage affection and sensitivity, as well as open and fluid communication with each other, to allow energy to move and gather. Our worktherefore is on an energetic level. It is not about adding more knowledge to the brain. Rather, our sharing of insights is always pointing to the release of energy and inner freedom from any sense of limitation or fear.

A Journey of Discovery: As we travel together into the mystery of not-knowing, traveling beyond the need to know, beyond time and fear, we are free to discover for ourselves the implications of what it means toenter into a new perceptual dimension of love and freedom in our daily living. We look forward to your joining us for this life-affirming journey of discovery.

Richard and Deborah started and facilitated the 8-Day Fully-Immersive Dialogical Inquiry & Retreat Programs for the Krishnamurti Foundation of America in 2005 and continue offering them each year.

As a part of their spiritual journey, Richard and Deborah studied and participated in Native American shamanic spiritual practices with traditional elders from several Native American tribes, before discovering theprofound insights of Krishnamurti.

Besides their continuing work in the fields of dialogue, writing, poetry and painting, Richard and Deborah continue their studies that reflect Krishnamurti’sprofound message of transformation, freedom and love. Among other world spiritual traditions, they have been recently studying the Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime, the Kabbalah, as well as current non-dualapproaches.
