The Journey of Awakening (Part II)
This residential weekend retreat will take place September 9-11, 2011 at the Swanwick Centre in Metchosin, located in a spectacular 32 acre ocean-front setting on the outskirts of Victoria, B.C. on Vancouver Island. It will include DVDs of J.Krishnamurti and other well-known teachers on the journey after awakening into the truth of what is.
This retreat is a sequel to "The Journey of Awakening, part I" but can also be attended independently.
"Wake Up Now! A Guide to the Journey of Spiritual Awakening" by Stephan Bodian is recommended as a resource for this retreat and will be available at cost.
Stephan Bodian, well-known teacher, author and director of 'The School of Awakening' (see www.stephanbodian.org) will hold a live skype satsang as part of this retreat, including one-on-one sessions with participants.
This retreat will be of interest to those deeply committed to the quest for freedom and truth, to those who have in varying degrees actually experienced and lived with awakening to the mystery of "what is", as well as to those who are merely curious about the possibility of spiritual awakening.
Themes covered during the retreat are:
The nature of awakening
The tenacious grip of the ego
Embodiment and living without a story
Freeing the emotional body
The awakened life
Activities
The DVD showings will be complemented with opportunities for shared inquiry and reflection, guided meditation and other supporting activities.
A Supportive Environment
The Centre’s beautiful natural setting is ideally suited for deeper enquiry and the emergence of stillness. To optimize this process and minimize distractions, participants will be asked to maintain silence during part of the retreat.

This retreat is facilitated by Ralph Tiller and David Bruneau. Ralph is the Centre's program manager and directs a holistic health practice in Victoria. David is a teacher of rebalancing and meditation in Victoria. Both have a longterm connection with Swanwick Centre and Krishnamurti's teaching, and have been co-hosting retreats there.
