THE JOURNEY OF SELF-TRANSFORMATION
An online workshop with Ravi Ravindra

One common lesson of all serious spiritual teachings is that as long as I remain the way I am I cannot come to the Truth or to God or to the Real.  A radical transformation of the whole of my being is needed in order to be free of the usual worldly occupations with fear and desire of what I usually call myself.  What is called for is not freedom for myself but freedom from myself.

The fundamental requirement for that undertaking is self-inquiry.  There are many basic and important shifts experienced by a searcher in the journey of self-transformation.

An important shift is from what I see to the importance of seeing and therefore a need to enhance the quality of my perception as it becomes clear that self-awareness is the mechanism of self-transformation.   

Another important shift is from an occupation with the goal of the journey to the adventure of the journey itself.

Still another important shift is from my determined effort to an increasing receptivity to a mystery which cannot be solved, but with enhanced receptivity is sometimes dissolved. Then one does not deny the mystery, nor fears it, but rather celebrates it in one’s own unique way.

The Facilitator:

Born and educated in India before moving to Canada, Ravi Ravindra holds master’s degrees in technology, physics, and philosophy and a Ph.D. in physics. He is currently professor emeritus at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he was professor and chair of comparative religion and adjunct professor of physics. His books include Science and the Sacred, Krishnamurti: Two Birds on One Tree, and Bhagavad Gita: A Guide to Navigating the Battle of Life. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Each 90 minute long Zoom meeting includes a guided meditation, a talk by Ravi and time for Q&A.
Registered participants will receive a Zoom invitation before the start of the retreat.
