January 4 & 18, February 1 & 15,  March 1 & 15, 2026

In this six-part online workshop we will be taking a journey through The Urgency of Change. This book consists of a series of short dialogues between Krishnamurti and his then close associate Alain Naudé covering a wide range of topics central to his teachings. The title reflects Krishnamurt’s own sense of the urgent need of a fundamental transformation or revolution  in human consciousness. The current alarming state of the world challenges all of us to examine ourselves and our responsibility for change.

Starting from the question as to how we are to live in this world, our inquiry will attempt to cover a wide range of subjects in a sensitive and coherent manner. As the chapters in this book are not in any particular order, the presenter has rearranged them thematically for the purpose of this workshop under six different headings.  We will be covering, in broad strokes, the questions of how to live in this world, awareness, relationship, conditioning, meditation and the religious life. None of these aspects are separate from each other. On the contrary, they are intimately interwoven, so there will be some inevitable overlap in their treatment.

Each session will include a general presentation and time for discussion. As the participatory exploration that it is, it is expected that those taking part will bring a quality of mutual consideration and sensitive probing to the dialogue.

This book is available freely here and reading the relevant chapters before each meeting is encouraged.

The general schedule is as follows:

January 4: How to Live in this World (+ related chapters ‘Conflict’, ‘The Individual and the Community’, ‘Suicide’ and ‘Order’).

January 18: Awareness (+ related chapters ‘Perception’, ‘Seeing the Whole’, ‘Discipline’ and ‘Learning’).

February 1: Relationship (+ related chapters ‘Love and Sex’, ‘Dependence’, ‘Happiness’ and ‘Passion’).

February 15: Conditioning (+ ‘Tradition’, ‘The Heart and the Mind’, ‘Fear’ and ‘Suffering’).
