TALK & DISCUSSION (Victoria)

Thursday, May 7, 4:30 – 6 pm
Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion
1070 Tillicum Road, Victoria, BC

Hillary Rodrigues will be giving a talk on KRISHNAMURTI AND ADVAITA/NONDUALITY, followed by an opportunity for Q&A/discussion.

This group exploration of Krishnamurti’s message will begin with a brief talk by Hillary on the classical teachings of Advaita or Nondual Vedanta. These teachings were first presented in the Hindu scriptures known as the Upanishads. They developed more systematically through the teachings of the Hindu philosophers Gaudapada and Shankara. The highest goal in Advaita Vedanta teachings is to realize that the individual self is an illusion. This is because Absolute Reality, known as Brahman or Atman, is the only thing that exists. The talk will serve as a springboard for our inquiry into whether or not these teachings align with the essence of Krishnamurti’s thought.
