Living without Conflict
This residential retreat will take place July 22-24, 2011 at the Swanwick Centre. It is based on the teaching of J. Krishnamurti. In a series of recorded talks, he delves deeply into the fundamental questions facing each individual, the ending of conflict, and the need to bring about a radical, fundamental change in human consciousness. There will also be opportunities for dialogue and reflection to explore his statement that:
"The art of living is to live without conflict."
J. Krishnamurti spoke throughout his life in many parts of the world to large audiences as well as with numerous individuals, including writers, scientists, philosophers and educators. When asked about how others can best benefit from his teaching, Krishnamurti replied:
“I think it all depends how serious you are. How serious in the sense of how deeply you want to go into these questions, which is after all your life. We are not discussing theoretically some abstract hypothesis, but we are dealing with actual daily life of every human being, whether he lives in India, or here, or in America, or anywhere else. We are dealing with the actual facts of fear, pleasure, sorrow, death and if there is anything sacred in life. Because if we don't find something real, something that is true, life has very little meaning.”
See www.jkrishnamurti.org for more information on his life and teaching.
