Exploring the Teachings of Krishnamurti
EXPLORING THE TEACHINGS OF KRISHNAMURTI
A Weekend of Dialogue with
Professor P. Krishna and David Edmund Moody, Ph.D.
May 24-26, 2019 (Fri. 7 pm – Sun. 4:30 pm)
In this weekend retreat, Professor Padmanabhan Krishna and Dr. David Moody will explore some of the seemingly confusing or contradictory issues that arise in the study of the teachings of Krishnamurti.
A variety of topics will be explored. Special attention will be given to issues where Krishnamurti makes statements that appear to be incompatible. For example, he urges his listeners to take seriously the urgency of change, while at the same time insisting that psychological “becoming” is the source of conflict and illusion. Somewhat similarly, he says time is not necessary for transformation, but he also urges people to be attentive to their thoughts and feelings throughout the day. Is that not a process that occurs in time?
For each topic that is raised, Krishna and Moody will engage in a dialogue with one another, before opening up the conversation to questions and comments from the participants. The introductory and closing sessions will provide additional opportunities for input from participants.
There will be time for casual and informal conversation as well during tea and meal breaks each day.
Extensive familiarity with the teachings of Krishnamurti is not required. The retreat is open to all interested participants regardless of their background.
Prof. P. Krishna is currently in charge of the Krishnamurti study center at the Rajghat Education Center of the Krishnamurti Foundation India in Varanasi, India. He was the Rector of the center and Principal of the Rajghat Besant School from 1986 to 2002. He is a trustee of the Foundation and continues to be involved with its activities.
