Self-Inquiry Meeting (@KECC)

At the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada

If you are deeply interested in self-exploration for transformative insight, inner peace and wellbeing, you are welcome to join our dialogue meetings, guided by experienced facilitators passionate about self-inquiry and a shift in consciousness.

Our Facilitator:

I have long been fascinated by the questions “What am I?” and its companion “Why am I here?” In the dialogues and writings of J. Krishnamurti I have found a traveling companion, someone to walk alongside me and guide my exploration into the “extraordinary phenomena of human existence.”

Asking questions, deeply listening, finding out for myself, all the while refining my understanding based on my experiences has been a defining feature of my approach to living. Whether I am facilitating a class or self-inquiry meditation retreat, leading a wilderness kayaking trip off Canada’s west coast, or working co-creatively with my garden I am passionate about showing up as fully as I can in the moment to what is. For me, this is an ongoing act of awareness, presence, blessing and partnership.

I have a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology and Statistics and worked professionally as a research methodologist and senior statistician in the public service. Later, I served as the executive director in a community mental health organization providing support to unhoused, vulnerable, and high risk individuals.

As resource we will be using The Book of Life, a collection of daily meditations by J. Krishnamurti. It is available at cost for $20.

The Book of Life e-book is also freely available here and looking it over for questions to further explore in our meetings is recommended.

Meetings are held on a donation basis. Your donation can be made here .

Meetings will be held outdoors under the Centre’s beautiful oak trees, if the weather permits, or otherwise indoors.

PLEASE NOTE: There are natural hazards on this rural, ocean-front property, including steep cliffs and uneven terrain, so caution and mindfulness are advised, Visitors are required to sign a liability waiver before walking on the Centre grounds!

By completing this booking, you are indicating your agreement to the following terms:
1. I acknowledge and agree that Kapoor Holdings Ltd. (“Kapoor”) and/or the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada (“KECC”) have offered me the opportunity to access certain premises located at 538 Swanwick Road in Victoria, British Columbia (the “Premises”) and to use certain facilities at the Premises including accommodation, meeting rooms, a kitchen, a library, a pool, and walking trails (the Facilities”).
2. I acknowledge and agree that my use of the Premises and the Facilities is entirely at my own risk.
3. I acknowledge and agree that (a) there are steep cliffs and uneven terrain on the Premises (b) potentially dangerous wildlife, including bears and cougars, have been sighted on the Premises, and (c) I will use appropriate caution and mindfulness while at the Premises.
4. I hereby waive any and all claims that I have or may in the future have against Kapoor, KECC, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Releasees”) arising in connection with my use of the Premises or the Facilities.
5. I hereby release the Releasees from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, or expense that I may suffer a result of my use of the Premises or the Facilities due to any cause whatsoever, including breach of contract, breach of any statutory duties (including any duties of care owed under the Occupiers Liability Act of British Columbia), and negligence on the part of the Releasees.
6. My agreement to these terms shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives.
7. These terms will be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of British Columbia and any litigation regarding these terms shall be brought in British Columbia.
