SELF-INQUIRY: THE MERGING OF HEART AND MIND
SELF-INQUIRY: THE MERGING OF HEART AND MIND
An Online Event (3 Zoom meetings) with GP Walsh
July 24-26, 2020 (Fri – Sun: 10 am Pacific Time, 1 pm EST, 6 pm GMT)
Self-Inquiry is not an intellectual exercise. It is a deep, penetrating, direct experience of yourself as you really are.
What would you think if I asked you to stand up and walk over to yourself? As Krishnamurti said, and it is right on the home page of this site, “Truth is a pathless land.” Indeed there is no path to where you have always been.
“Having never left the house you are asking for the way home.” – Nisargadatta Maharaj
Self-inquiry goes beyond the structures of mind to the essence of mind where we find that the Heart and the Mind are the same ineffable thing, one substance, One Life and you are that Life.
We do not need to attain our true self, but we do need to break down the walls of the mind, the illusion of the world, deconstructing the person we believe ourselves to be to find the simple truth of our being, already present, resplendent in its innate beauty.
“When the mind stays in the heart, the ‘I’, which is the source of all thoughts, will go and the self, which ever exists, will shine.” – Ramana Maharshi.
In this retreat there will be:
- Talks about the main subject, the pathless practice of self-inquiry
- Inquiry, Buddhist emptiness and Christian and Sufi mysticism
- The Heart Sutra and Balyani’s “The oneness of being”
- Meditations on the merging of heart and mind
- Exercises to allow the non-dual insights to penetrate the entire nervous system and become lived truths
- Satsang questions and answers
- Fun, humor, insight and the celebration of human life
