THE PATH OF NEGATION
“The seeing of the false as false is truth” .
Krishnamurti talked about Via Negativa (the path of negation) : the approach of finding truth, clarity, and freedom not by accumulating positive knowledge or following a system, but by observing the false and “what is”.
Why is “Via Negativa” so hard for us? – or is it? This is difficult in dialogues. Our human thought tends to create positive statements and conclusions. Why? What do we gain by positive statements and what do we lose without them? Should I leave a dialogue feeling “good”? Can we “help” each other in dialogue?
Anyone deeply interested in self-exploration for inner peace and freedom, is welcome to join our talks and dialogue meetings, guided by experienced facilitators passionate about self-inquiry and a shift in consciousness.
The Facilitator:
The magnetism of Krishnamurti’s words is irresistible to me. Over the years, a shift in sight has radically illuminated relationships, beliefs, and the exhausting maintenance of “me”.
Vala believes that Krishnamurti’s teachings throw psychology, art and “self- actualization” into a new light and open dimensions on what it means to “understand oneself”. Vala’s intensive study of Krishnamurti has an additional focus on inquiry into trauma. Vala Legan is a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Therapist, specializing in trauma and attachment.
She has published 18 children’s books as an illustrator, as well as illustrating over 30 national magazines and newspapers (www.valakondolegan.com).
As resource we will be using The Book of Life, a collection of daily meditations by J. Krishnamurti. It is available online and from us at cost for $20.
The Book of Life e-book is also freely available here and looking it over for questions to further explore in our meetings is recommended.
We particularly recommend the readings on Belief (February 9 – 15) before our meeting.

They will be held in the Boardroom of the Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion. The Pavilion is located in this beautiful park, next to a Japanese Garden.
Enter from Tillicum Road. There is ample parking next to the Pavilion.
Or take #26 bus to Tillicum at Gorge Bridge stop, with a 5 minute walk from there to the Pavilion.
